Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I received my GCSE results today!

I have 2 A*s - the Maths which I already know about (I took it in November) and Chemistry. My sister would be proud if she ever bothered to keep in touch. But I'm only following up Maths anyway.

I also have 2 As - Biology and Physics. What else? I was hoping I'd get an A in History as well, but I still got a B and I don't intend to carry on the subject anyway.

I have 4 Bs - English and English Lit, History, and Spanish. Now I have achieved the baccalaureate. (Maths, Science, English, a Foreign Modern Language, and either History or Geography) I got a B in Spanish - interesting when it was only this year I could separate the words during listening.

I have 4 Cs - Citizenship, Drama, Media Studies, and RE. I had expected to fail Drama, so that's a bonus. I expected that grade for Media. And the other two don't matter 'cause they're only halfs. I was benign in the Cit exam, cos I was sitting in seat B9.

The only Ds I have are based on a different system - they both stand for Distinction and are Sport and ICT. And then there are the Ps, English and Maths Functional Skills (They're piss easy). I have no idea how I got Distinction for PE BTEC - I had a Merit when we all knew and I haven't done any work on it since. At least our teacher didn't force us to do PE GCSE because I am certain I'd fail it. Some teachers did that with their pupils (which made for a very empty English class...)

I have 11 GCSEs (15 if you count equivilants - which I don't). And I have not failed a single thing. I am happy.

:) :D :) :) :) :) :) :) :-D :-)

Okay

I have now changed the address of my blog to minimspad.blogspot.co.uk. Change your links, and update your whatevers.

Still upset? Even though I can make error messages:

Make graphs:

Draw pictures:

A picture of what, I'm not sure...

Write words:

Clarabelle decided that she was jolly well not going to take it quietly.

"I HATE YOU!" she screamed. "I hope you FALL DEAD!"

Do internet stuff:

And smile:

(although looking at it, I look like an alien. Or I have radioactive freckles)

Now are you okay with this?

Name change

I have changed the name of the blog and am probably about to change the URL as well. But not yet - I'll give it time

Sorry, people who dislike change, but my new title is much more relevant to my material and it means I feel less guilty about posting everything I'd like to.

To make you feel better, I've got some pictures for you:

Enjoy.

Statement

My hearing is perfectly fine...

[Scene: Noisy music room]

Ali: Would you ever consider converting to Islam?

Minim: [What? A slum?] No.

Ali: Why not?"

Minim: Be a bit disgusting, wouldn't it?

Ali: You think Islam's disgusting?

Minim: Oh, Islam. And no, I wouldn't, I don't like the idea of praying five times a day, I have no problems with homosexuality, and I like my bacon too much.

...it's just the words get confused occasionally.

George: [with very obvious signs of amusement] The couple in front of us jumped at the sound effects.

Minim: [I jumped as well, and I was well further back than they were. Those effects were loud, not to mention sudden]

I can jump at the sound of a lid of a wheelie bin closing.

And now you may have a picture. Enjoy.

(And yes, they are the right way round for me, because I am a leftie)

Ad Preferences Manager

So today I decided to look at my Ad Preferences and see what Google thinks I'm interested in, based on the sites I go to on Google Chrome on my netbook. These are the results:

A bit of a disappointment, needless to say. I do enjoy comics and anims, and the odd flash game, and I can see why they would think I like games (I am addicted to this one, at least, not to mention all of the free logic puzzles on Conceptis!), but as for the rest of them...? I don't remember doing anything with Business and personal listings, Microwaves, Dairy & Eggs, or Cooking Fats and Oils (these are just a special type of ester, aren't they?) I don't know what the penultimate one is, so what am I to say about that?

But TV Commercials????? That is just insane. I don't even call them 'Commercials', I call them adverts, and they are dead annoying. I only stand TV Ads as the point in time to go to the toilet or get a drink or to stand as they mercilessly bugger me to death (the Go Compare man, anyone? I got happy joyful pleased ecstatic in the more recent one where he gets shot). But they are necessary to be dealt with.

Because they are the source of money for the TV companies. We wouldn't want to have to pay for them, would we?

Drabbling Difficulties

Minim: Hmmm, I think I'll write a drabble about a quartet of girls who go to the Chalet School.

[Minim writes about a quartet of girls who go to the Chalet School]

[Minim goes on internet and gets distracted by awesome/interesting game/site/something]

[Minim goes back to document, saves and closes]

Next day...

Minim: I'm going to write an awesome drabble about a girl battling with the author like the animation and animator.

A repetition of this has meant that I now have a lot of drabbles that are started but nowhere near even getting to the main plots or anything.

I believe that this limits productivity and so is a specialized type of writers block. Far too many ideas means I have a hard time concentrating on any one odd drabble.

I could start a challenge with all of my demi-drabbles and get people to complete them any way they want, at any length they want too. A weekly challenge, maybe. It would be something to do with all of those halves that I'll never complete anyway.

Anyone?
